Multiple DBs open & Access Violation Error

Opened 4 different databases, tried to open # 5 even tho I know 4 is max.
Got msg only 4 can be simultaneously open.
Closed 1, File>Close (not X out of) and got AVE.

Sometimes I will have at most 2 open but usually just 1.

I would image that this is easily recreated by anyone with more than 4 databases and maybe not.

If anyone tries this, post your results. If you get AVE doing something else, start a new topic with screenshot of that.

Saw this late last night. Had both RM7 and RM10 open and idle. Decided to leave them open overnight and try this in the morning in RM10 (64-bit on Win 11).

Results… opened 4 different databases (from each successively opened new screen). Fifth attempt gave me warning. Closed the 4th open database. Nothing. Using the other 3 open database screens to briefly navigate. No errors produced.

I also tested opening a 5th database. After the warning I closed the 4th database and was able to open a new 4th database without issue.

I repeatedly tried adding a 5th database after refilling the quota and then deleted the 1st, or the 4th or 1 in between without fail.

As I said in another post–I started to try opening 5 databases and when I opened the 3rd database, I received an AVE–since then I have repeatedly tried your way and have NOT had another AVE-guss Jerry is right-- RM was just tired the 1st time and needed a break..

If you are on the 64-bit RM for Win, try the 32-bit and see if that makes any difference, as it has for @thejerrybryan .
