Male shown as "Mother" and Female shown as "Father"

I have hundreds of individuals in my rootsmagic database but have never seen or noticed this issue. An individual with sex “Male” is shown as “Mother” and his spouse with sex “Female” is shown as “Father”. Why would this be and how do I correct??

My Guess is they came form importing trees from online sites or from a gedcom possibly – I doubt a user would consistently mess up that many. It is easy to miss when importing. That said identifying and cleaning them up withing the RM UI might be time consuming. Do you have some screenshots – this might help someone give you a better direction to fix

Click Edit from menu near top and choose Swap father and mother

Sorry my message was not clear - I have only noticed one instance of this occurrence. However, there may be others! How can I search for this issue?
I have not imported any trees or gedcom, I entered everything manually.

Thank you, that corrected this instance. However, there may be others! How can I search for this issue?

Since a computer has no concept of how to discern, presumably the human would need to scan Given names. So, a Marriage List report could be eyeballed.

Also, Basic Search will Find>Sex>Unknown which might be an overlooked data entry issue.

A marriage report seems like a useful aid.

It would seem that when entering individuals manually, default entry in marriage of male and female should be male = father and female = mother.

I’ve had this happen once in a while–I would think that I had the father highlighted ( when in fact I did NOT)-- this use to be a real issue on the previous versions of RM–also it has happened when I forgot to enter the sex of a child-- then when you enter a spouse for them it automatically assumes the first person is a male and the person you are adding is a female

BTW, the Couples view is more immediate (as an equivalent to running a report) and can be column-sorted by Marr Date (for blanks) AND Descendants view has colored icons for easier Sex column visualization.

Aha, that is probably what happened. Thank you all
