I’m creating an hourglass chart for my mother. I can get all her direct ancestors to display. Her children all display. But only grandchildren for one of her daughters displays - BUT all of her children have kids and they don’t display. I think all the grandkids should display since they are her descendants. I tried for my father as well and same issue. I am using RootsMagic 11 and have all of the latest updates installed. I have restarted RootsMagic. I have restarted the computer. Any other suggestions?

Didn’t work. I get the same result. So, I downloaded a new file and tried again. Same issue. I’ll keep trying.

Am wondering if there is something else going on with your database file. Are you downloading the file from Ancestry? Also, do the grandchildren display on the Descendants chart?
The chart looks the same. All of my mother’s children show but only has my children on the chart - none of mom’s other grandchildren. I am downloading the file from Family Search.

Sounds like something else may be going on. Do you see everyone in the Descendant’s View of the People menu? If not, you may have some parent-child linkages missing. Children attached to a duplicate spouses or more than one spouse and other spouse active… might want to check for those types of things.

The tree is huge, over 30 generations and 55,500 individuals. So, after I saw your comment on the db, it prompted me to rebuild the indexes. That fixed it. So, something must have gone haywire on the download since the file is so big. Thank you!
