I am brand new to using RootsMagic. I would like to see if there is a way to type an address once - probably in the address section and then be able to add it to family members timelines without having to retype the addresses each time. Is there a simple way to do this in RM10? If that isn’t possible, if I type it into once family members timeline, is there a way to add that same address information to other family members living there?

then add new or select existing
once you do – you can see the count
you can also access addresses from the left side
I did that but I can’t see how I can add the dates that the family members lived at an address
so that it can be included in the relative events/ timeline. Is there a way to get the age, fact, date, and detail for the residence?
If you are looking for a historical address then you would need to add a custom address fact and use that. The fact can be copied to others.

Ok, I just tried that and I created a custom address in the relative events / timeline. To copy that information to other family members, am I needing to copy and paste the year, address, etc. or is there an easier way? Thx
I am assuming you made a customized fact-- if so, once you have made the fact for the person, click on the 3 dots ( next to add fact, delete fact) and select copy fact
Roots Magic Explorer will open up and you can mark as many people as you want --click okay and you should be good to go BUT check those added…

You asked if you could add the age–yes you can— you can add also who they were living with by using description–so my sentence for principal under Residence individual is:
[person] [Person:age] lived< [Desc]>< [PlaceDetails]> < [Place]> <[Date]>.
note you can also use a range of dates such as 1850-1865 but it will only show the person’s age for the 1st year picked–not sure you could do a range of age-- what I put under desc is in BOLD…

but THEN you have to go to everyone you copied the fact to and tweak the description by changing with her husband Mel Acorn and family to with her parents Mel Acorn and Yoyo Doppler ( or whatever the relationship is)…
Sue Acorn at the age of 24 lived with her parents Mel Acorn and Yoyo Doppler at 100 Ashberry ST in London, England in 1850-1865…
edit-- if you use on the date range 1850 to 1865 INSTEAD OF 1850-1865-- the sentence now reads FROM 1850 TO 1865 instead of IN 1850-1865…
