I would like to search my database for a specific date and type. Such as Date equals 1950 and Type equals Residence. Then once this are filtered to change the Type to Census. I feel that this is under Search and Replace but I am not seeing this readily. I have also tried to find it but did not get the list of people that have the Date equal to 1950 and Type equal Residence. This reason for this request is that I would like to change the Residence to Census as it is clearer than what Ancestry labels.
Thank you for your help in constructing the query.
There is a Tool to change the fact type for everyone but not for a group. So you would need to manually change the fact types from residence to census, unless all your residence facts should be considered censuses.
Keep in mind if you are using TreeShare there will be a mismatch on those fact types you changed.

Thank you. I was able to create a “find” usng the fact type of Residence and date 1950. This produced a list of persons that met this criteria. I am chaning these once by one, person by person.
If you the TreeShare issue does not matter for you – you could add people do a group (or more than one group) then add the census fact , then delete residence if both present for given year (this is just a simple overview not the detailed steps)– it might be quicker if you have a lot and are comfortable with the complexity. Just make sure you have backups in the event something goes sideways
