Error Roostmagic has stopped working

Microsoft Edge browser version 109 and WebView2 Runtime version 109 will be the last respective versions to support Windows 8.1

Windows 8 and 8.1 were universally agreed by all to be truly awful. Buy a new windows pc with the current OS. They are dirt cheap with consumer sales tanking and you can then safely use the internet and current versions of your applications. People hang on to old software and machines far too long. As mentioned above hackers are looking for people like you.

Well, I decided to go ahead and upgrade to RM9. What a waste, I have spent $20 to continue having the exact same errors. Of course, I always have the error sent to RM as requested. I do not use all of the available “features”, but I am sure that if I tried, more problems would pop up. Lenovo, using Windows 10.

Have you tried renaming the “C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\RootsMagic\Version 9\RootsMagicUser.xml” file?
If it got corrupted, it’s possible RM wouldn’t display a user friendly error message.
