I am very happy so far with the DNA capabilities that have been added and I am very grateful to finally have a purpose made way of capturing the data. Below are some of the things I have come across that would improve the experience for me.
- Adding a column for the Unique Match ID (on most sites every match has a unique ID that can be found in the URL, this is the best way to differentiate when you have 20 John Smith’s in your match list)
- Adding a column in the DNA Match page for unweighted shared DNA (this only really applies to Ancestry but it would be helpful).
- Adding a column for the ancestral line the match belongs to. It would be even better if you had one column for Paternal/Maternal and another for the line.
- Adding a column to say whether the match triangulates versus just shares DNA
- The ability to click through to a DNA Matches edit person page from their matches DNA Match page
- Including the DNA Matches in the search filter/criteria. I manage over 20 DNA Kits and I would like to be able to run a search on all people that have a DNA Match with each of these kits, especially for creating groups and managing colour coding etc.
- Including the data in DNA Match page in the custom reports options
- A report that shows all DNA Matches of a single person (not just the ones we have already found the connection for) and just a list of all DNA Matches. This is an example of the headers I would want
Match 1 Name; Match1 User Name; Match 2 Name; Match 2 Username; DNA Provider; Shared Cm; Shared %; Largest Segment; Shared Segments; MRCA. - An ICW (in common with) report, so that you can capture all matches in common with a particular match.
- The ability to filter the Leeds method with a particular line (this would likely need suggestion 2 to be implemented first.
