Converting Advanced Search to Group Gives Group Wrong Criteria

I think I have seen this one reported before, but just in case …

I just did an Advanced Search and then converted the results to a group. On its face, it looked like everything was ok. But when I tried to use the newly created group, the criteria were all wrong. In fact, I recognized the the incorrect criteria for the group as being the criteria for a group that I had deleted recently.

I don’t know if this is a totally repeatable problem. But it’s easy to picture what is going wrong. Rather, than pointing to new rows in RM’s GroupTable, the newly created group is pointing to the rows for the recently deleted group.

For now, I’m going to create the group just as a new group without first doing a search. I don’t know if that will destroy my ability to recreate the problem or not. So I’m first going to make a copy of my current database.

(Added before posting) Running the database tools and then running the Advanced Search and creating the group didn’t solve the problem.)

(Additional add before posting). I simply converted the Advanced Search to a group a second time with a slightly different name. The first group I created in this manner was still there. This forced the conversion from an Advanced Search to a group to add new rows to the GroupTable. This time, the group was created correctly. So I can delete the group that’s wrong and keep the group that’s correct, and all seems well. But there is still a bug that needs to be fixed.)

I have seen this before – I have not test in 11.0.3. I was unable to replicate on demand when it did occur. its like its confused and will save the wrong criteria is the bottom line and is a bug.

I forgot to add that this is 32 bit RM 11.0.3.0 on Windows 10 Professional 64 bit.

Confirming issue has been reported to development.

If you deleted a rules group during the session, closing and reopening RM to start a new session should save new rules groups correctly. It’s only after deleting a rules group that you need to do that.
