I am confused by the # of people – the preview and # of people in the created group
I crossed out because they are all living people
from that screen I create a group and the group then has >1500?
What am I missing ?
Is the criteria … Marriage exists is True AND Marriage date is Blank? EDIT: nevermind looks like just Marriage date is Blank matters.

Are those two rules somehow acting additive (includes members of both rules) instead of you possibly wanting to narrow to Kate’s side, THEN further exclude Marriage dates that are not Blank?
I’m not following your example very well. Exactly which number doesn’t match exactly which other number? What are the numbers?
I tried to set up an example similar to yours. When I did, the numbers for Advanced Search were off by one from the numbers for my group. Then I refreshed my group, and the numbers then matched. Is your situation similar to that, or is it something worse than that?
He means the 8 matches shown above the criteria versus receiving more than (>1500) search results.
I figured out part of reason why the group created does not have the same criteria - so its not transferring – the criteria being used it almost random it seems I was going to play with later to replicated issue(s).. when you hit the group button shouldnt the new group use the criteria from left?
I almost wonder if you have simply chosen the wrong group. Choosing the group is really an iffy process from the point of view of using the user interface. There is sort of a “current setting” and a “new setting”. And the “current setting” starts with the first group in the list of groups. It’s really easy to select the wrong group by accident. You have to sort of ignore what’s on the left, get the group you want on the right, and then click OK.

adding if I create the group/criteria from the main screen it seems to work as expected but not from the advance search screeen
