Command Palette and Count Trees

I find it interesting that I can use a computer program like RootsMagic for a long time and still occasionally find features that prove very useful. Two such features are the Command Palette and under that the Count Trees.

Somewhere I saw a reference to a Command Palette so I began looking for it. Viola, there it was in the upper right part of the screen. Wow, what a easy to access a lot of useful commands, including some commands I was not aware of.

One such command is Count Trees. I use that command to identify unconnected and duplicate individuals.

You might want to check out the “Enhanced Properties” on the Home Tab. Lots of useful functions in one place.

I access it frequently to back up my files, being the distrustful sort :). I do so every few records added, vs waiting until I’m done for the day.

Probably unnecessary if you have time machine set to “hourly” backup.

My backup file is in the cloud. My database is not, and is backed up hourly to Time Machine. Never hurts to be overly cautious.

I agree: 1 SSD hourly TM; iDrive nightly cloud backup; every 10 days 2nd SSD TM and rotating flash drive backup stored “offsite” (in my car).

Paranoid yes but takes almost no manual effort or $ and saved all my data at least once.
