Ancestry Hints and TreeShare

Does anyone know how the AI for Ancestry Hints works when you accept or ignore a hint. In other words, does accepting (or ignoring) a hint further refine the AI in Ancestry to find additional hints that are specific to the individual based on the hints that were accepted or ignored.

I’m asking because I’m trying to refine my workflow in RM and wondering if it makes a difference if I accept/ignore hints in RM or in Ancestry - does that action adjust how the AI in Ancestry looks for future hints on that individual - I would think it would.

I like that I can accept the hint in RM but it does not show up in the Facts in Ancestry but the source citation I use in RM does after Tree Share. (i.e. a best of both worlds)

I want to be able to accept or ignore hints in RM Webhints but just wondering if it even makes a difference in Ancestry one way or the other.

Thanks!

not sure who can answer that question and what AI did yesterday it may not do today or tomorrow so the answer might change.

for me I am more focused on what I need or am missing than the often overwhelming “leafs” (distractions) I get

Thanks! I so agree on the “leafs”…Sometimes I think I have more leafs on my family tree than I rake each fall  ….. but seriously I’m looking down the road as Ancestry begins to roll out their Full Text process- I would expect the hints to increase and/or be of a different type that we may not have seen in the past. Just trying to nail down the best and easiest workflow between RM and the online services especially Ancestry.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, accepting or rejecting hints will training it on what hints are acceptable or not. You want to Accept even the duplicates. You don’t have to add the information to the RM database. It learns via the Accept or Reject button on the Ancestry Hints screen.

It’s good to know what is happening in the background, thank you @rzamor1 .

Personally I usually go in through Ancestry, as that often gives access to the original document, by using the ‘search on Ancestry’ button below the ‘Ancestry Sources’ shown on the ‘Facts’ page on the person’s profile.

Then just TreeShare.

I’ve given up on leaves unless I’m researching an individual. Why?

Just my main tree!!

my opinion Ancestry could be more focused on how hints are given but choose not to. Probably because it helps with Marketing and keeping people subscribed/
