I’m working on cleaning up RM’s geocoding in my db. I noticed that virtually all of the RM-geocoded lat and long values end in either .98, .99, .00, .01, or .02. Does anyone have any ideas on the reason for this?
Also, I have not been able to have RM geocode Washington, DC.
Checking Wikipedia shows the complexity of that designation Outline of Washington, D.C. - Wikipedia . RootsMagic does geocode District of Columbia, United States and it’s mapping brings Washington City up right in the Center.
The majority of places in my database are in the UK and this does not apply. I checked the few places that I have in the US, and yes they are as you describe. Quite often I enter the values manually from Open Streetmap as I don’t always like where RM puts the blue dot symbol.
