Hi – I’m looking to revamp my genealogical data, and I’m curious the status of GEDCOM 7 support (in the latest RM version). The only posts I see here about it are 2+ years old (including the 2021 announcement that support would be added, but no follow up announcement as to how well this was completed). Thanks!

good question.
Support import but not export etc — I believe currently on 5.51 GEDCOM are exported.
However not many software has much support for GEDCOM 7 yet that I have seen.

Thanks for the quick response. I’m looking for a system that can be my core repository, so it would need to export GEDCOM 7. Gramps has done a bunch of work on supporting it already so I will investigate that further, and it appears they have tested it as a way to move data between Gramps dbs while preserving all images, sources, etc., which is one of the big problems with the original GEDCOM. Still, if anyone is aware of export support from Roots Magic, even via an external tool, I would really like to know so I could evaluate it further.
RM team would need to answer that question but they likely would not give time frame of when it would be. That said there are some potential work arounds. Family Historian can directly import RM db without Gedcom then export GEDCOM in various configurations including GEDCOM 7 based on helpfiles I saw. Not sure if that help you in meantime.
