Spell check stopped working following RM 11 latest update

RM x 32 11.0.4.0 + Windows 11

My spell check has stopped working. Is it just me or is it a shared problem? I know RM uses the PC’s own spell check, but is it a problem caused by the update? I have checked the Windows settings (English UK) which seem correct. If this is not an RM issue, then could reinstalling it solve the problem? Any thoughts?

If closing RM and restarting doesn’t make it work, try logging out of your Windows account and back in or reboot the computer completely and retry. Can You describe HOW it does not work? What symptom occurs when Spell check is clicked? Nothing or Screen locks up or an Error message?

Yes, it happens to me occasionally. When I use spell check, the notes window will occasionally freeze. This happens especially after pasting a large amount of text and then running spell check before a save. So I save the note frequently after pasting/edits and right before running spell check, I save again. That seems to work for me. I am running the 32bit on Win11.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have worked through them and it has not fixed the problem. As to your question, nothing happens when I select spell check for the whole of the note or any part of it. I think it may be a problem with my Windows settings. Back to the dawing board. Happy New Year.

I do get an occasional freeze but not triggered by my failed attempts to use spell check. On another issue when using notes I find that if I highlight some text in bold and then try to revert to plain, either immediately or in a later session, it remains stuck in bold every time. My workaround is to cut and paste into a word processing doc, change the bold to normal and then paste back into RM notes.

Do you encounter this too?

On a main view in RM use the key command Ctrl+Shift+U and select “Reset Program Settings”. Close and then reopen RM and see if that fixes Spell Check.

No, I have not encountered the same issue as describe in bold.

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried this but unfortunately it did not solve the issue. I wonder if I uninstall RM11 & do a fresh download it might fix it. Seems worth a try. Are there any precautions I should take before doing this?
