I created an Association Type for Guardian/Ward. See Setup image. I used it for Abraham Vaughan who became the ward of Richard Hicks on 9 Dec 1739. Choose Richard Hicks. Did add an event and selected Association. Selected my Guardian association type. Filled in Richard, Abraham and the date. Saved. But the event in Richard and Abraham’s event list reads as Associate: [Name] and the sentence for both reads as “[Name] was an associate of [Name] on 9 Dec 1739.” Why is it not giving the sentence in the form I specified in the setup and why in the event list doesn’t it give it as Guardian: Abraham Vaughan and Ward: Richard Hicks? From this ouput you can’t tell anything about what the association is. Have I done something wrong in the setup? Please explain.
Just as a test, I used the same individuals but the built-in association of Education and the sentences event details read as I would expect using Teacher and Student.
Never mind. I closed out and came back in and now it’s working as expected. Go figure.
The first screen shot had the wrong association type. It was using Associate instead of Guardian. Which is why is showed the associate sentence template. When you went in to get the screen shot highlighting Guardian changed it.
