Rootsmagic Window resizing to a smaller window

Does anyone else have the problem where Rootsmagic in Mac OSX and RM version 9 and version 10 the Rootsmagic window will automatically resize to smaller size window? The mouse will change to a vertical arrow and the window will change to a smaller window. The size of the new window depends on where you mouse is at that time. I do not have this problem with any other applications and I am running the latest version of Mac OSX

I have seen one other person report this a while back, not sure if it was you early. I did see this morning a support agent has your ticket on this. It sounds like its triggering some type of setting on your mac, but I do not know what that could be. Have you tried RM11 Essential version to rule out its still an issue there?

I have not tried RM11. It didn’t make any difference going from RM9 to RM10.

Yes, I’ve had a couple of occasions in the past where RM seemed to get into a window resize state that I had not intentionally initiated. I could never recreate it and I only recall it happening twice. Am still on Sequoia and have not had it happen yet on RM 11 but it has been a very rare occurrence for me.

btw, if you use RM regularly, I think you’ll find the RM 11 interface/usability improvements are well worth the upgrade cost.

@klt2000 – I had this problem on Windows where the window would automatically resize–don’t remember if it was Windows 10 or Windows 11 when they add snap --it drove me nuts until I figured out how to turn it off..
I don’t use a Mac nor know much abt it–I googled your problem and it sounds like it’s working as designed on a Mac except almost everything says that you have to manually do something to resize a window— hit certain shortcut keys, double click, drag the sides or edges etc–so basically what are you doing right before it resizes? Most everything I’ve read says that on a Mac, a window will AUTOMATICALLY go to full size but doesn’t mention going smaller..

anyway check out this link and maybe google your problem listing the version of Mac you are using-- if that doesn’t work perhaps Mac has a help forum???

When the smaller window appears:

-determine if pressing

Option+Command+Minus key combination results in zooming back out

Option+Command+8 key combination resets zoom back 100%

Here is another one that might help
