I was working with basic and advanced searches today. I wanted to find everyone in my tree who was on the 1850 U.S. census in Scott Township, Adams County, Ohio.
Yes, I know well that I can go to the “Places” menu, but I was trying to bring up the names in a search that I could export.
Can you tell me how such a query could be done in the Search menu? Thanks.
A lot depends on how you have recorded your census events but this is my suggestion for and Advanced Search

if you used SHARED Census you would have to change the option to include
depending on what you are doing you may need to use and/or (or BUT NOT) in separate rules
If you use Ancestry and sync you may find census facts shown as ‘residence’ not ‘census’. If that’s the case you may need to search those facts too.
