I downloaded RM10 yesterday and as I explored the features I noticed that when I click on “Places” a pop up box appears with “Cannot find PlaceDB.dat. Please try reinstalling the place database.” Would you provide directions on how to do this. Thanks so much.

I think there will be an issue if you downloaded the 64 bit version of RM when your previous version was 32 bit. Try to download and reinstall the new 64 version of the Places database.
Have found the solution by going back to the RM 10 download page and clicking on Place Data (which is optional) and downloading it. Duh.
