While renaming approximately 12,000 media files, I’ve encountered an issue where sorting by filename or caption causes the list to reposition after each rename. This results in the view jumping to a different location, significantly slowing down the workflow.
is there a option that it don’t sort ?
I’m away from my computer, but if I remember right, sort by Caption still shows only filenames, so that explains your symptom (the constant filename changes “thrashing” the list). I think those are the only options.
Are you using the filepicker icon and renaming these files themselves or using Search and Replace under Tools to alter filepath/filenames or just editing the contents of the Name field after having already renamed a batch (on the storage device)?
Absent the option for no sort… the obvious choice is sorting by Filename, because then… all the BROKEN links are shown at the top of the list.
