In the name type field under the Name facts, there is a list of name types, like Birth, Maiden etc.
It would be great if we could also have Adopted/Adoptive added to the list.
When you click on the parents name in the Person screen, you will see the field Relationship to parent that defaults to Birth. You can change the relationship from Birth to Adopted (or another value) if you want that option. .
Iirc, neither name nor relationship type have effect on anything other than the Edit Person screen. It’s as though they are artifacts from an era of good intentions.
I am aware of the relationship, this was more being able to differentiate easily between the alternative names and why they are entered.
Yes, after paying some more I was disappointed to see this didn’t come through to reports etc. It would be so helpful if it did.
