Multiple tree count attached to one person

Hello, I use RM11 for Windows. One person in a RM11 tree file has >700 trees by the tree count report, yet other persons in the same family don’t even display in the tree count report. The person with >700 trees is not the root person in the file. How did this one person get such a large tree count number, and is there something I should do to fix this count? I don’t understand the pros/cons of a person with “multiple trees.” I’d appreciate insights from other users. Thank you.

I suspect that you are misinterpreting the report. The person listed is the person with the lowest ID number (RIN) within a tree. Most likely the report is saying that there are >700 people in that tree. Help provides additional details - Counting trees

[edit: it helps to display RIN numbers if you don’t have this setting in place already. Settings, General, Number to Display=RIN]

first the person with the largest # is the main tree – the other trees are Separate trees that are not connected to the other trees – this usually happens when a person is either deleted or relationship changed somewhere. All the trees are in same database but in sense they are “broken” because they are not connected. Some may be expected – such as if you added anyone through associations (like best man and maid of honor from wedding each are in their own separate tree) . I rarely delete anyone or when I do– I spent 1-2 years looking for connection before I do.

That’s it! Thank you for answering my question and for the tip to display RIN which I have now completed. Best wishes, Patrick
