Marking words with Ctr+Shift

When I edit person details and want to highlight and replace (or copy) a few words with ctr+shift, the cursor does not move to do its job, but in the main window I seem to cycle through a list of persons windows that I had edited earlier – until I “reach the end” (or a similar system notification).

This is not only annoying but also confusing, because as the Person edit window covers the main window, I suddenly face the details of a completely different person.

Is there a way to change this short cut, or is this a bug?

Here is a list of shortcuts. They are not editable.

Many thanks for these short cuts.

It seems, I should have been more precise:
“marking words in a one-line text box with ctrl+shift+arrow-right” does not work (in the field as such), as this combination seems to cycle through recently edited person pages), which you don’t see if the person window covers the main window.

Alternatively I have to use single shift+arrow-right clicks or go to the end of the entry and mark the text backwards.

Thank you, Gerhard

Ctrl+Shift+(Left or Right) will rotate through the History List. The RM Edit Person screens are non-modal so commands for the main program can still be accessed.

Ctrl+Shift+(Left or Right)

So I seriously can’t use this shortkey in fields that I edit?

However, said that, strangely sometimes it does work – it seems when the cycling through the History List is finished.

Weird, but thank you for the confirmation. Is there anything you can do to ammend this? I can’t remember to be an issue with RM7.

I also find this very annoying. Every other program on the market, from word processors to spreadsheets, etc. allows one to select one word at a time with Ctrl-arrow, one line at a time with Crrl-End (or home), etc. Not being able to used these shortcut keys is very annoying since it’s so intuitive after decades of use in every other program. It even works on this website!
