Huge horizontal empty spaces in Descendant Chart PDF

I’m using RootsMagic 10 to make a Descendant Chart to take to a printer, with 174 people in 7 generations. I want to display this at a reunion for 60 people in 7 days, so I need to figure this out soon. I’ve been working on this for 3 months, making slow progress that was helped greatly by RM technical support this week, but I don’t think RM technical support works on weekends. Where is the RM 10 Wiki? Is that “Online Help” on the Home Page? That and RootsMagic TV have helped, but I haven’t found answers for the two problems that my iMac generates in the Descendant Chart PDF:

  1. Out of 12 siblings, there are huge horizontal empty spaces except for the connecting lines between each of the 4 oldest siblings, but there’s the desired space between the boxes for the youngest 8. Under Settings, Box spacing is set at 0.50", Generation Spacing at 1.00" to see if that would fix the problem below (it didn’t), Box Width at 3.00", Layout “Fit to Chart”, all Margins 0.50". The huge horizontal empty spaces happen in several other cousins’ families, too. This also happens in the saved SVG that’s generated at the same time as the PDF. If I print the PDF, the gaps are still there. It all prints on one page, as mentioned by AlanH as an issue on this forum.

  2. The children of the 3rd oldest sibling are placed, across the huge empty gaps, under the 2nd and 4th oldest siblings, and wrongly connected with some of those offspring, as if they had two sets of parents. Maybe fixing the above problem will solve this one. This problem does not appear in the SVG, although I’m not sure if local printers in Orange County, CA, can print from an SVG. mikedabell reported this issue Jul 2023 in this forum, he reported to development, might still be an issue.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

The issues you mentioned have been reported to development. Those large gaps typically happen when there are multiple spouses in the lines.
