I’m using Tree Share to sync my trees so I have the same mess on Ancestry as I have in RM9. When I tree share, this lady keeps coming up. She is in both trees; I’ve eliminated any duplicates or alternative names, but she just will just not go away. There is no “x” to “not change” her, and both options to unlink and clear, have no affect. Any suggestions? Thanks for your consideration.
Are you sure there aren’t two Jane Beale in the Ancestry Tree?
also in addition to Tom’s question – the screenshot shows filtered for only Changed peopled
No - there isn’t. I made sure there were no duplicates, or alternative names. My RM9 tree does not report any problems with the tree, either.
Delete on Ancestry - click on the “Show on Ancestry” will take you to her
If I show everyone, she is there as a person in RM9 without a corresponding person in Ancestry, and she is in Ancestry without a corresponding person in RM9.
I had that thought. Delete her on Ancestry and then hopefully add her back on a subsequent sync. I’ll try it. Thanks.
RM should have given you the option to “Link” to an Ancestry person.
Look at her in RM and see if “Link” shows up.
There is a “Link” option on the RM9 side, but no one to link to on Ancestry side.
ok that can make sense — if I understand correctly the person on ancestry is not “synced” to person on RM or vice a versa.

Make backup – look at both RM and online on Ancestry. Decide which to keep and delete.
Delete only on one of the locations (RM or ANC) then push the change.
Just for clarification you do not have FTM or other software connected to same tree — correct?
Kevin
Correct. No FTM or other software.
This is absurd. I deleted her in Ancestry, and logged out of Tree Share. I then in RM9 did a sync and she came back to Ancestry. Logged out again, closed RM9; reopened RM9 and did a sync and there she is AGAIN! Like before. Maybe I’ll try deleting her in both and manually adding her back. She doesn’t have a lot of info and only one source - marriage. Good grief.
I do use TreeShare that way between RM & ANC – I do not attempt to maintain things 100 % synced. My MOO (Method of operation is that RM is my main daabase) so I rarely push anything from ANC to RM. I do NOT mantain daily changes to ANC . About 2x a year I upload a new copy from RM to ANC.
I have see that issue but the last time was about 2 years ago – sounds like the might be a ping pong type problem.
did you run the database tools also? Then close and repoen RM?
could possibly be a database issue.
I did run the database tools but not after I deleted her in Ancestry. I’m going to delete her in both and do all the database tool stuff, and then see what happens. Grrrrr. I suppose I could just ignore it until it decides to go away ![]()
Possibly there are 2 of her on Ancestry (you delete one but not both) - on Ancestry website find her, delete her then search again for her - just strange
I did that on both RM9 and Ancestry - no duplicates found, no alternative names, just one of her on both R and A. You’re right - just strange!
also double check the RM index (with RMID / record ID turned on).
see if there are more than one Jane Beale (s) in index
I only have two more suggestions at the time – open a ticket with RM support.
If that does not work out – there are potential SQLITE options to see the RMID in peopleTable and in AncestryTable within RM databases and detect “oddities”.
Checked: Jane Beale RMID 2855 Birth 1705 - only one listed. I’m about to give another go at deleting and adding back and seeing what happens.
