I am using RM10 on Windows 11 - everything up to date.
I want a fact type called ‘DNA test’ where I decide the syntax.
The system fact called ‘DNA test’ appears to be editable but can’t be deleted and replaced by my new design fact.
When I try to edit the system fact it allows me to add [desc] and [place] fields to the template but won’t allow me to enable them.
So the [desc] and [place] fields are in the template but ignored when I use the fact.
Enabling [desc] and [place] is greyed out on the edit screen.
I feel I am missing something!!
I know I can design a new fact but I want the name ‘DNA test’ !!!
Update:
I have discovered I can create a new fact called DNA TEST
It has the same abbreviation DNA as the system fact.
I am happy with that.
Posting now just for interest and any related comments.

You could also create DNATest, no space or DNA-Test.

How can you tell which is which when you add a fact to someone and get the dropdown list of fact types. I suspect yours will be the second of the two but having duplicated the name just seems to create the potential for confusion.

On Fact Type and New Source, I add a ‘_’ to the front of the name. That way it will also show first in the list.
