Enter the full latitude and longitude into the Latitude field and press Enter.
It will split like this.
That is the surest way to get the settings to be compatible with RM. Obviously, many other English settings such as English(Canada), English (UK) have the same formats for decimal numbers and also work. I’m not sure that keeping your Regional setting as German (Germany) et al and overriding its Zahlenformat is as certain to work the same as changing the Region.
Also, I don’t know Mac and whether a change in such a setting takes effect immediately or requires a reboot. Even if it takes effect immediately, RM needs to be refreshed for the effect to be seen on screen. That could be as simple as switching out of Places in the main view to something else and then returning to it.
@TomH you’re right. Only changing the Zahlenformat isn’t sufficient. I indeed have to change the whole regional settings to US, reboot the machine and it works. Honestly I don’t know whether it’s worth the trouble for me since I don’t want to have an “english computer” all the time so I have to reboot my Mac every time I want to edit places. I could perhaps create an automator routine for that.
However, thank you for your help!
As mentioned in my answer to @TomH the language settings have to be changed, too, and not only the numbers format to allow place editing. I also entered lat + long numbers together in the lat field, as you suggested. It didn’t work (while numbers format changed to “.” for decimal symbol).
So I still would appreciate a native “switch” in future releases of RM since changing system settings is no permanent solution for me.
Thank you.
