When I generate a 4-generation fan chart, the writing in about half the cells is perfectly fine, and in the other half, only partial letters appear. I’ve tried charts for four different people, and it is always the same cell positions that are garbled. This appears online, and if sent to the printer, it prints exactly the same - half clear- half garbled
Most likely, unique to a particular subset of Mac users, size unknown, but not experienced by the majority and perhaps unable to be replicated for purposes of troubleshooting, maybe?
I’ll not very helpfully add my tuppence that I was preparing a “why to consider RootsMagic” talk and tried to show a fan chart as a report option - mine looked just like that. I too am a Mac user ( Ventura) and on RM10.0.4.
I was in a hurry and didn’t go on to see if it appeared in print or online, just moved on to find another report to show.
Thanks Lorna. Its goof to hear from someone else that saw the same issue.
I wish someone from RootMagic would jump in on this discussion and maybe help us figure it out.
I had the same problem and I am of the belief others have the problem and possibly they solved it. I did find a solution in my quest to solve the problem. This one individual, with the same problem, solved it by not trying to print it directly from the program, but to save it as a .pdf file. After doing so, he opened the saved file and it looked perfect. Printing it proved it to be perfect. So, generate it, save it, reopen it and then print it. You should have a perfect copy.
I’ve since had my chart expanded to a 18" x 24" at Staples and it also came out perfect. I thought I’d provide that fact as well for those who are thinking to do so.
