I setup a “Last Edited” report. In the settings, I selected to sort by “Date Edited”. When you generate the report. They are not sorted by date edited. Anyone else noticed this? Using RM11 latest version.
I just tried it again. On my Mac(main) and also on my windows11 laptop. It still doesn’t sort. It puts 2021 at the top and 2022 at the bottom. Both computers are using the latest update.
I dont believe its expected (other than maybe by you) to be reverse Chronological
It is sorted by oldest to newest – in excel you could change the sort order after
Yeah, I was expecting it to put the newest edited date at the top of the list instead of the bottom. I will trying to put it in excel and see it sorts the way I want it to sort. Thanks for the help.
you should be able to use EXCEL or CSV and then sort in Excel or Google doc etc from there
you can request different options from the screen you showed earlier – that would be a feature enhancement request
I just tried excel, it didn’t sort right either. I’m assuming the is a bug in RM11 somewhere. I will go over the report with a fine tooth comb and see if I can pickup anything that stands out.
I am not seeing a bug
You would have to convert the text to a date field after however.
Excel would sort it as text not at a value/date/
I’m not seeing an issue either. I sorted by Date Edited, 2nd by Surname, and 3rd by Given. It’s listed correctly in chronological order with the oldest date first.
I think the issue is the TEXT Field value (vs date/numeric) when exported to Excel – a user would need to know how to covert the text to a date/numeric in order to sort afterwards. Maybe options for feature enhancements for dates are needed (I think most if not all date fields are outputted as text)
Other than to have a “hardcopy”, depending on what your real aim is…
You might be better served to use the People view tab at the top of the People menu (on the left)
Click Customize button far right and Add Date Edited to the columns displayed in that view.
Each successive click on the Date edited column toggles the table sort between least recent and most recent AND clicking any individual opens their Edit Person window.
agreed --and this is a live view vs static of a custom report.
And you can filter using groups (using before 12/31/2025 for example)
That works fine. I like how it puts the newest at the top. Now, I have to figure out how to print it. I don’t see any option to do so.
Not designed as a report/chart, so no printing from there. Printing a list would regularly become “outdated” quickly as you commence working. That’s better done as an .XLSX
Guess I’m expecting to much from RM. ![]()
No software is going to excel at everything for everyone.
RM has come a long way since RM 7/8. There are many things done better by some of its competitors. Overall most of us agree that RM is best over all compared to the others.
you can change the date – I used 2022 because if I used 2025 it was close to 29K
and newest to oldest
and oldest to newest (People view)
I see what you’re saying. I have been with RM since version7. I like it and intend to stay with it.
sorry I missed you want to stay with RM7
Sorry, I meant to stay with RM11.
then groups and people view grid (you can customize) is one one option to use and work with.
the people grid will update as you go but the filter part of the group may need to refresh so you only display what is desired/needed. You can do before / after or between for criteria among other things.
