Broken media links again

Hi,

I have migrated from 9 to 11 and currently have 1861 broken media links. I have of course run the tool to fix that to no avail. All of my files are on my computer with cloud backup. I don’t use OneDrive. Is there a way to run a report to show me which links are broken, so I can attempt to find those files?

Two methods:

Scroll to the very bottom of the main Tools menus to find the Enhanced Properties list. Run that tool. The Media section will provide a link to view all missing items. From there you can see the file path and file name to understand the name and location of the media when it was initially attached. Iterate as needed - run tool, fix broken links, run tool again, etc. (There are many other helpful db cleanup sections to this tool if you aren’t familiar with it.)

Second method - From the Publish menu, run the Multimedia List report, save as an excel file, and sort on the Media column (or filter the data ) looking for “Not Found”. This will show the same information (file path and name) as the Enhanced Properties list tool, just as an external doc.

Thanks for your reply. I’ll see what I can do with those methods.

If you haven’t changed file names, there’s no reason that the fix media links command shouldn’t work.

Stop everything else and find out what’s going wrong with it

Suggest you locate the media folder on your computer and be sure that is what you set in rootsmagic.
