Associations and isolated trees

I have created an association “godparent”. From time to time I have to add a new Person, which is not related to anyone in the main tree and therefore “lives” in an isolated tree. When I am in the associations view and want to switch back to pedigree-, family- or descendents-view, I sometimes end up in such an isolated tree and if I do there is no way to switch back to the main tree other than deleting the association. This seems to be a bug, but maybe somebody has already found a work-around?

I’ve not experienced that and am not on my computer to verify what I suggest, but.
..

  • History list - select any recently accessed person from your main tree
  • Index list - select any person, they are probably from your main tree
  • Count Trees list - select the one at the top of the list to go to its start person

Adding to TomH’s solutions, there is also Bookmarks icon in the lower-left Index pane to temporarily “favorite” a person for easy access.

you could also just hit the back button ( < on top right next to home)–maybe twice --to go back to where you were before looking at the association or home.

Easiest way to avoid this is to make sure the person in your line is the one highlighted when you want to leave..

Click on the Home button to go to the root person in the database.
