The lines on my Ancestry Chart are unclear because they are feint. Could make them ‘bold’?
This question has been asked before but never satisfactorily answered. There seems to be no way to make the connecting lines between boxes wider (and hence darker). I find that when I print out an Ancestor Chart the connecting lines are too narrow to see. It seems so obvious that there should be a way to make these lines more visible, yet there isn’t. The borders around boxes can be made wider, but not the connecting lines. Is there any workaround that people have discovered?
The only solution I know of is to save the chart as an SVG file, then open in an external editor. I personally use Inkscape
You then have total control over how all the individual elements that are used to create the chart are displayed.
As a bonus, you also have total control over the positions of everything and data from different charts can be copy & pasted in allowing creation of charts containing non-bloodline ancestors and descendants to be included in a single chart.
There is a fairly steep learning curve, but I believe that something like this is the closest replacement for the old charting application that was last supplied with RM7.
Thank you! That sounds like a good idea! I used Inkscape for other purposes many years ago but I hadn’t considered it for this. I’ll give it a go.
