Alignment issue on certain facts on People screen

I am using RootsMagic 11.0.3 and fact titles on the People screen for Residence and Occupation are aligned to the top of the field whereas other fact titles are centre aligned. Is there a way of altering the alignment similar to that when using a spreadsheet please?

Try adjusting the Fact column width slightly wider. The alignment issue you captured seems to happen when the Proof field is set and the column width is too tight. There’s a line wrap or something like that going on.

You can always shorten the address lines by removing the ā€˜United Kingdom’ (or ā€˜Great Britain’ as appropriate) from the end. One of the things I dislike about RM is the suggestion to add it on an address on every occasion. Personally I don’t think it adds any clarity to the address(es); whether it’s England Scotland or Wales the country name is unambiguous. Don’t get me started on Ireland!!

Hover your mouse pointer over the vertical line immediately to the right of the column header name (either Facts or Fact which is above that) that represents the width of the column. The pointer will change to a double-headed arrow. Now double-click the mouse button and the column will resize to the width of the widest piece of data in that column.

If You find that takes up too much width or leaves too much blank space, do similar but instead of double-clicking the button… just press hold and drag that column divider back to the left as fitting or needed. Same for most columns most places.

I suspect you are talking about RM’s County Check feature. If so, you can turn it off.

The primary focus of County Check is to assure that city names and county names and state names are aligned properly with each other and with time frames when the counties actually existed. But at the same time, County Check suggests including the country with every place name. I don’t include the county of ā€œUnited Statesā€ when the state itself nearly always makes the place unambiguous.

Thanks Charlie for the suggestion but the other options to widen the fact column worked for OK for me.

Perfect worked a dream

Thanks this worked. Trying to mark this as Solved but cannot find button to do this, sorry
