Problems with duplications and merge of people

Hello,

I’m having problems with duplications and merge of people.
That’s how I end up with two duplicated parent lines for three individuals. I know it’s not a software problem but a misunderstanding of the procedure for moving or merging individuals before moving them to a branch.
Can anyone help me?
For example Regnaud de Warney (922) has two same lines of parents. The same goes for Marie de Warney (921).
Can anyone help me ?

Highlight Simon de Warney -or- Jeanne de Tronville and check this line for number of spouses

There may be Spouses: 2 (meaning the same two folks have been linked as Spouses twice). Unlink them as Spouses (via right-click menu) until the number of Spouses for them is 1.

With the descendant view on Jeanne de Tronville look at the Info Box on top of the sidebar. Click on Spouses, Children, and make sure you have all the children under one family group. Then click on the 3 dot menu beside the children and select Unlink, Unlink (from parents). After all the children are removed from the second family group see if the 2nd family group disappears. If not, you will have to select the spouse under the family group with no children, on their 3 dot menu select Unlink, Unlink (from spouse).

Thank’s you kbens0n and rzamor1 . Tree is corrected, but I’m not sure to understand. If I find duplications on children level do I have to unlink every time on the parent level ?

Unlink on the parent level if you have more than one family group for them and their children.

In this case, your first two parts of the screenshots clearly showed those siblings having two sets of Parents with the same RIN (Record Identification Number). Looks like Jean de Warney would have been another to check for the same, BUT as Renee is sharing… sometimes one or more siblings may only be linked to a single set. These Individual List settings will help a little bit with discovering duplicates of exact Parent sets:
