Legacy has a great automatic ID and MRID (Marriage ID) feature allowing for organizing a physical file - any suggestions as to how to do this with Rootsmagic?
RM does have automatic record numbers. You can display them after the name by going to Settings, General and selecting RIN under “Number to display”. However, I don’t recommend generated numbers like that for organizational purposes. If you ever have to export a GEDCOM or do a drag n drop the numbers can change. Instead use the Reference No. (REFN) fact to add your own numbering system. It can also be displayed after their names.
The MRIN is only shown on the Marriage List report when that option is checked.

another option to RMID (Record #) or manual ref #, is the FSID# (though this likely would NOT be EVERYONE)
