Listing a women as "maiden"

I have a great aunt listed on her obit as a “maiden Lady.” Is there any tag or field that could be used to indicate this, or is it really necessary? Could just make is a note on the obit media.

Thanks

It doesn’t seem to me that the “maiden lady” text in the obituary merits its own special tag or field. If so, then there might be many other things that might appear in obituaries that would merit a special tag or field.

For many years, I included the text of a person’s obituary in the Note field for their Death fact. I have since created an Obituary fact to contain the text from a person’s obituary. In the process, I changed any existing cases where the obituary text was in the Death fact so that it would appear in the Note field for the Obituary fact instead. That seems to handle any and all situations where unusual or interesting tidbits appear in a person’s obituary.

That was, not really all that long ago, a polite way to referred to a woman considered to a Spinster.

In today’s more enlightened world, it is not necessary. I would treat it as I would any unmarried woman including myself by only entering her last name in the “Maiden Name” and leave it safely at that.
