Inflexibility of Sources AND Citations in Reports

…and @TomH would be more than happy to write that custom query for you as well as give you detailed written instructions on how to download and install a SQLite tool, load the query, execute it on your database etc…

If you have no knowledge of such tools and processes, your should not go mucking about in the database.

Even if you do copy all of the pages manually, your footnote still needs a lot of work if you expect that someone other than you is going to be able to figure out where your information came from. Stating Northern Ireland: Death Record probably is not going to be very helpful. IN the United States those records are held on the county level in many instances and occasionally the state level. Without being more specific to the region, no one is ever going to be able to find my records.

For example, here is one of my early tries at writing a citation:

Footnote: Wapello County, Iowa, Death Record, Bk. 9: Pg. 437, Richard Marion Funk; Wapello County courthouse, Ottumwa, Wapello County, Iowa.

Short Footnote: Wapello County, Iowa, Death Record, Bk. 9: Pg. 437.

Even as badly written as this may be, it takes a user to the specific courthouse and gives them the specific record book and the page in the book.

Not to veer too much off topic however yes, I understand that my Free Form system does not confirm to standard Source and Citation methodology, such as detailed in Evidence Explained by E.S. Mills. I have a digitized copy of every source/citation in the database filed in a similar method and easy to find. It is actually more for my internal use. The database and the sources files work as a pair in concert. Most of the source files have a note on them as to where they reside. Anyway, hope that provides more insight to my free form system.

I am assuming this is a tongue-in-cheek poke at TomH  These tools and processes are definitely outside my wheelhouse. Not 100% sure I would embark upon a manual database-wide copy and paste to correct my error. Maybe as I go, for the main descendant lines. Not the end of the world… no one died.
