I have a husband and wife with 4 children.
However all 4 children have been ‘red’ highlighted that the mother was 2 years old when children were born.
I should have spotted that. But I have now found a younger wife (not married).
How do I change one parent of each child with the new one ? It gives me the impression I can unlink a spouse/parents, but how can I re link the child to a new spouse/parents.
How to Unlink-- go to page where the person is the child of the parents you want to UNLINK from…
HIGHLIGHT THE CHILD
Right Click and in the drop down box click on
UNLINK FROM PARENTS
Another BOX appears and IF the right family click UNLINK
To ADD a child to a family-- go to the page with the PARENTS you want
Click ADD CHILD
Another Box pops up–
CLICK ON SELECT EXISTING PERSON
Then HIGHLIGHT the Person in the NEXT BOX and hit OKAY
Make sure you have a BACK UP of your FILE before doing anything…
If you only need to change one parent select either parent and right click. Select Unlink, Unlink from Spouse. That parent will be removed from the family, and a single parent with children will remain. You can then select Add Spouse to add the new parent. Best done while in the Family View.
