Exiting from RootsMagic - allow Backup rename

Whenever I have done that and don’t want to overwrite, I do either of the following -

1/ Select NO to exit with no backup and then run RootsMagic again, and exit changing the file name!

2/ When on the Confirm Overwrite screen, open Windows Explorer, Navigate to where my backup file is, then chenge its name (By saying adding a _1 to the filename, then back in RM Click YES to overwrite, it will create a new file.

Not sure if this would work on a Mac!

Exactly. Or put a Cancel button on the Overwrite screen.

…or :hh:mm:ss on the file name. I doubt anyone can manage to make two backups in one second so there shouldn’t be any duplication in the file names.

A possible part of the reason there’s no timestamp in the filename… colons not allowed in a Windows filename  Gotta be dashes or some such.

So defending myself from attack for “unfortunately” wording my issue report has gotten my post deleted.

I’m outta here.
