I recently imported the wrong GED file into an unrelated family tree.
Is there a method to delete all members of that Ged file other than manually deleting family by family ?

The simplest thing would be to restore from a backup that you made just before you imported the GEDCOM.
Absent that, is there a way to identify all the people imported via the wrong GEDCOM? By “identify”, I mean by doing an Advanced Search in RM. Is there any thing all those people have in common such as a source you added to them during the GEDCOM import process. Or do they all have the same date for Date Last Edited and nobody else in your database has the same Date Last Edited? I may not be being creative enough in trying to think about ways to identify those people. But if you can identify them, you can make them into a group and then you can delete everybody in the group.
Deleting everybody you imported in the GEDCOM will not delete any sources or citations or place names that were imported along with them. For that reason, a restore of a recent backup might be a better solution.
If you did not merge any of them you could use the RIN number where the people from the GEDCOM started. Create a group using record number, greater than - xxxx. Then delete everyone in the group using Tools.
Aha! Easier than anything I suggested.
sometimes EDIT date can be used (likely not only parameter) – but sounds like what RENEE suggested would work way better as Jerry confirmed.
Well, I said “easier”, but “way better” is also true, and perhaps is more important. ![]()
well I suppose “easier” and “better” – might be one of those “in the eye of the beholder” at times things ![]()
If/when I go to import a gedcom … I create a new database with them and I color code those people first before import.
I can then add a Source to them and if any hiccups (like in your case), I know exactly who to remove.
