I already been busy with genealogy about 5 years, and every time you learn something new.
1 have nog about 115000 people in my familitree and have also a lot of pictures about 20000 to the family members, but as in the beginging you don’t know exactly what you do is the correct sollution, nog all these mediafiles stand in 1 directory and not everythin have de correct name.
is it maby possible that in the future a option can built in that if you run this the name of the pictures will be begin with the backname and then front name and the rin number ?
or is this my problem and must this all do by hand ? it will future people help a lot after the learn that the setup can be more better ?
RM can’t autoname media. It will only link to existing media. The location and name is for you to manage. Ancestry downloads will place media in one folder for you, but the naming is determined by any capture you gave the media there. If no caption then it comes in with their naming system.
Currently this would need to be done by hand – I suppose one could request a feature enhancement to fill in the caption (Maybe using something like a very basic version of the fact sentence.
the only other option would be to do something outside of RM using SQLITE which is not recommended or supported by RM
