Hello,
Virgil here, been doing genealogy for many years now. Got hooked back in the very early 1980’s, I was hurt at work and laying in a hospital bed. My mother carried in a box of just a little bit of her genealogy work she had been doing, telling me it would keep me busy while stuck in the hospital. Just reading through her work had me hooked. This was before the internet and everyone having computers. She had been doing it via typewriter and very neat handwriting. And this is back when you had to mail away and pay for birth, marriage, death, etc. documents.
I had used or checked out all the other genealogy computer programs over the years, having used ROOTS, UFT, TMG, FTM, etc. Then I got hurt yet again at work, pretty bad that time, I was out of it for a few years (surgeries, rehab, and a bit of PTSD issues. When I did get my brains back about me, and started back into genealogy I discovered that the last program I had used was UFT and that it was no longer supported. I checked around and did not like the cheaper programs out, but did discover RootsMagic, which was much like UFT had been. I have been a supporting user ever since, which has been years now.
I highly recommend RM to everyone.
