In 2008 I began working with my family tree BIG time because Mom died and none of my siblings wanted all of her stuff. For many years my wife and I volunteered at the Stake Family History Center. Then we were called to manage the place. So, for many more years we spent hours each week helping others learn how to work on their family tree.
When PAF went away the Family History Centers were given free software to use on their PCs and I became acquainted with Roots Magic. I have been a fan ever since…that is to say until version 8. Converting to version 8 has created a ton of work for me. I feel like I am starting over and do not have the loyalty or trust in it that I once had.
It is more than a hobby to me.
