# Unlink wife/mother but leave children with father

I’ve found several instances where I have the right children with their father, but the wrong woman as wife/mother. I’ve gotten myself in trouble before with unlinking; what’s the safest approach to unlink the woman from the husband and children but leave the children with the father?

Right-click upon the Spouse to be removed as a Parent  
Select Unlink from Spouse  
_(removes this person from their place in this family and leaves the rest of the family intact)._

I often make a screenshot and save or print that screenshot so I can more easily revert to where I started from. Make sure you have the Rec Id# displayed to connect same person(s)
