Source Column Meaning

Can anyone explain to me what this column is for when in the edit source template window. Why are there some X’s there in some of the blocks. Thanks!

Best way to find answers for question like this is to use online help ( F1 from the screen you have questions about). The help page - creating a source template - describes all of the fields in detail:

? – x indicates there is a long hint defined for this source field. This long hint can be more detailed and show examples to help the user understand the data to be entered into the field. There is no restriction on the characters that can be used, or that will be displayed.”

You can define/edit the long hint by editing the source template and then highlighting the source template field in question and clicking the “Edit Field” button.

If you’ve not worked with editing templates before there’s a bit of a learning curve. Standard templates that ship with RM aren’t editable. You must make a copy and then edit the copy. In some cases this may defeat the purpose of what you are trying to do, so caution is suggested along with frequent backups.
