For some months I have noticed that when I enter a new person into RM11, the sentence displays the person’s name in reverse order. Now am I noticing that existing person names are also in reverse order. Perhaps I didn’t notice this before as I am adding new people more often than editing existing people. I do not have customized sentences templates for most events. I have used the same facts and display options and the same sentence templates for years and this never happened until recently. When I create a report (usually narrative or descendant list) the name displays and prints correctly. The problem occurs in all of my trees, not just one. It happens in all events, not just one. It happens when I create a new tree from scratch too. Then … here is the really weird part … the next day RM might display it correctly in the edit person screen. Here is a typical example.
Fact List-level sentence settings and any changes also made at the individual Person-level to how fact sentences will read …are how the genealogical Narrative is stitched together. Can you screenshot a Narrative report where an example of this unintended name-reversal takes place for multiple People? Names in the Index pane are reversed by design.
“Given Surname” is already selected. If I select “Surname Given” the display remains that way. But if I then select Given Surname the display changes to Given Surname. So, if “Given Surname” is the default, why isn’t it displaying correctly from the beginning?
@jateas Thanks for the screenshot–as I understand, any report ( narrative etc prints out just fine-- you are only having a problem with what appears sometimes on the edit apge screen as in the 1st screen shot-- so we have of what shows in the sentence at the bottom of the fact in the edit screen, so you you post the top part of that same fact-- where it has the info you entered for the place, date and description please
