Of the 3 files, I have imported into RM8 from RM7, I had a problem with one–so I made a gedcom with RM7 and imported that way BUT when I saved it, it was saved as a gedcom ( no backup) instead of as a RootsMagic file with an additional RMBACKUP file like all the rest-- I know that in Family Tree Maker, there was a way to change a saved imported gedcom file ( which was considered a temporary file and not saved in the same database) to a regular Family Tree Maker file with a back up file—so is there a way to make a RM8 gedcom file into a RootsMagic file?

Thanks Nancy

You can import the GEDCOM file into a new and empty RM8 database.
