# Convert RM9 database to RM7 via RM8

For anyone needing to convert a RM9 database file to work with an earlier version (RM8 or RM7), there is a way that does not rely on GEDCOM and its attendant losses which are greater than by this direct approach:

Not saying it’s foolproof but might well serve some useful purpose.
