I would like to replace a “Place Detail” with another in other people’s events. e.g. the current Place Detail = “abc town” is present in many other people’s events. I want to retain “abc town” but change it to “def town” in other selected events. Is this possible? Any advice on how to do this vs. one at a time? Very confusing. Thank you

If the “another specific detail” already exists:

Places\>navigate to -or- use search field to narrow which Place\>Click greater-than sign of Details column of that Place\>Select particular Place Detail (another specific detail ~ if multiples)\>Click More Options ( three vertical-dots icon)\>Choose Merge Place Details\> Checkmark original Place Detail (to be merged into already-selected “another” )

Otherwise, navigate to the Place Detail in question and change Name in Edit Place Detail pane to the far right.

Thank you for the advice. I think it’s more complex than I originally described. Once in the Edit Place Detail screen, if I open the “Used” row, up comes all the events where the Place Detail in question is used. In that list, it is used correctly in many instances. My goal is to change the other “used events” (many) to another single Place Detail. Maybe too complex to do in one go?

Yes, more than one instance (to be changed) but not all… that’s down to individual selection per fact person. Use Find Everywhere to search the Place Detail name and the named individuals will come up under People with an (edit) link to their Edit Person screen usage.
