it was a good question as maybe some of our responses might not have full context/experience so they might not be fully understood.
not sure I fully understand what you are referring to. If you mean the manually process is nearly error free – yes with cavaet you need to come up with plan on organization of folders/subfolers and filenaming – there is not really a ‘wrong’ way – your system should create unique & organized.

After having read the replies explaining why not to download media from Ancestry.com, it now seems auspicious that TreeShare is not currently working and that it will be best if I download manually.
It’s going to take me a few days to figure out how to organize my media as I review the very helpful posts from kevync1985 and KimberlyGreen and it will no doubt take me many days to accomplish the task as I have limited time to work on it each day, but I am now confident that it’s the way I should go.
Hope I have posted this correctly. I’m sure I’ll want to be asking many questions as I go along.

When I started organizing, I tackled it by doing the largest single type first … census pages. It made the biggest impact right away. And that helped me feel more accomplished and energized to keep going.

As KImberly mentions – Census is a good place to focus on. It ties couples/families(and often extended ) together. It confirms year of birth (though some caution is advise as the person who gave the info could be off a couple years). As person can be recorded in two diff census for same year – though not very common in can and does happen if/when a person moved with that short window.
